Pencader Heritage Area Association Goals/Objectives 2010-2011
- Continue to educate the community on the need to preserve and proclaim the rich multi-cultural heritage of the Pencader Hundred area
- Maintain PHAA’s relationship with Cub Scout Pack 1777 / Scout Troop 1777
- Continue our relationship with the Delaware National Guard in the areas of Museum utilization and historic displays
- Collect Pencader area artifacts for display in our Museum and develop sources of funding for the same
- Develop presentations of major areas of interest in Pencader to share with the public and educational communities
- Expand PHAA membership
- Create, with the Division of Historical & Cultural Affairs, an annual Dayett Mills/Cooch's Bridge Battlefield Clean Up Day. This event, with the assistance of local School Districts, to be held in April in conjunction with the annual Christiana River clean up
- Seek creative ways to highlight Pencader Hundred history, culture and crafts
- Conduct "Student Leader Conferences” for local High School students emphasizing Pencader History
- Develop a self-guided Auto Tour of the Pencader Hundred
- Continue the PHAA Speaker Series
- Expand the PHAA sign program
- Continue to provide Pencader area-related teaching materials to local schools
- Maintain landscaping at the Flag Plaza and the Museum properties
- Continue our international outreach program
- Pursue the expansion of the Museum with the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs
- Sponsor our Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony and Battlefield Memorial Ceremony
