Battlefield Memorial Monument
by Christopher Kanich Dedicated on September 5, 2008 |
|
Chris hails from a long line of native Delawareans and thus has a personal interest in the history of the area. He volunteered to help the PHAA celebrate the memory of fallen soldiers from the Battle of Cooch's Bridge by using his masonry skills. Chris crafted this monument from Belgium blocks originally used as ballast in English ships in the 1700's and then as pavers for the streets in Old New Castle. He started this project in August 2008 and it was completed for our dedication ceremony on September 5, 2008. Christopher P. Kanich
